McAfee has been a world leader in computer protection software.  McAfee Virus Scan 2009 comes complete with a script-stopper to stop viruses from spreading from one computer to another.  Although McAfee Virus Scan 2009 doesn’t include instant messaging, file sharing or registry startup protection, these features can be included when buying the gold version.

Overall, McAfee will protect your computer however the software does have some downsides. Over and above the fact that basic features are not included with the software, their support service can be slow at times and updating can be confusing.
